Summer Milky Way in Sagittarius. A clear dark sky is becoming a luxury in our light polluted environment...Its a staggering sight to view the center of our galaxy even with the naked eye. The middle of this picture is nearly centered on Sagittarius A*--a black hole of approximately 3 million solar masses that is the heart of our galaxy. This view is looking towards the southern horizon in the direction of Sagittarius and the tail of Scorpius near Lake George Colorado in June 2006.
